Post by jackinayak »

Sure was a lot of tournament yakkers around Sabine Pass yesterday. Any Saltwater Boys here want to give a report on how the tournament turned out? I would like to see a report.

They had 54 people entered and it drew a few from the Houston crowd but had a pretty good amount of people weigh in fish Winner was 17 something which is stupid. I ended up getting 3rd weighing in right at 15.0 lbs. pretty day on the water and caught my fish on a gulp and the other on a Gold spoon. I actually caught more founder than reds. Pretty day on the water though.

Well I got a little lucky and weighed in the winning stringer. 17.01 lbs both caught using down south lures. This is the 2nd February Saltwater Boys tournament that I've won. Last year I believe was 14.14 lbs (30-40mph winds that day), so this year was increase in competition as I would've placed 4th with that stringer.

If y'all haven't fished a Saltwater Boys tournament y'all need to get at it. They are cheap entries fees and a great group of guys to be around. Next tourney is a 2 team tourney to weigh in a slam and is open to everyone to fish, you don't have to be a member.
