Austin Area Access Maps
Please use this sticky thread to post maps to area launch sites. Please, NO COMMENTARIES. If you post, add a map.
The idea is to have a nice clean thread where it is easy to find a map without doing searches.
thanks,
joe

Town Lake - Red Bud Island
Town Lake - Red Bud Island
Take a left onto Redbud Trail below Tom Miller Dam. As soon as you cross over the bridge, turn left into the Red Bud Island parking lot (think they call it Town Lake Metropolitan Park). You need to walk your yak down about 40 yards to the aggregate ramp.

GPS Coordinates
It sure would be a great addition to have GPS coordinates to go with all these maps.

Granger lake showing access points. Good whites at Willis Creek and in the San Gabriel River arm.
Edit: Replaced the crappy map with "official" map. For fishing reports, call the Dutchess convenience store at 512-352-7498 before going. They will tell you where the fish are biting. The "White Bass hotline" is 1-512-481-LAKE. The message is currently outdated but will be updated when the whites start their run.

I don't think I'd bother trying to put a yak in BC, it's way too shallow most of the time to be worth it, and most of the access points would be pretty tough to get one in or out of. We just wade with our flyrods. Best stretch is from about 1 mile downstream of the Scottish Woods access, all the way up to Lost Creek. Above that it's all private property, with little to no access.

exit braker from mopac and take the northbound service road until it loops under mopac. you'll see the park entrance on your right and just follow it back until you see the lake on your left...but you did not hear that from me

Link for Maps to area Ponds
Hey all this link is from a member of my Bass Club. It has great topo maps for all the local area fishing ponds. I see some of the maps posted are from his site. He works with TPWD to topo and electroshock these bodies of water so he knows them pretty well.
