WRC strips
WRC strips
What is the most cost effective size board to mill into strips, Should I get a bunch of 2x4s or spend more for each and get 2x10s or 2x12s.

Spend the money and get Alaskan Yellow Cedar. Assuming you're strip planking. It bends nicely, easy to plane / sand etc. and an attractive wood after it's been finished. IMHO
Dosen't really matter what size board you start out with since you will be milling it down to size. Most people are cutting them to 3/4" wide X 3/16". Depends on your application'

I agree but so is WRC that can be found quite inexpensively in a variety of colors to give contrast,
I will buy any size that I can that is clear (no knots), I prefer to scarf my strips but butt joints are less work ( not that much less ) and work just fine.[[URL=http://s469.photobucket.com/user/ ... .jpg[/img]/url]
