ANOTHER BUILD (FINISHED)
Putting together a little stitch and glue "honey bee" like I built for my brother TCF. I'm not going to string out a lot of picutres, just include a link in case you're interested. Nothing new here, just same ole same ole.
I'm building it for a guy who works with me. He has 5 kids and his oldest is his 16 year old son who I believe will probably occupy most of the time in this boat.
Theme is Texas A&M, white and maroon, a 100% paint cover on this build, except maybe the bottom.

Re: ANOTHER BUILD
Got enough of a break from building my coastal fish camp to get a little more done on this honey bee. I had hoped to deliver it for Christmas but the cold weather shut me down.
The entire exterior is glassed except for the 2 decks. The hull is double glassed outside and triple glassed inside. The front and rear keels are triple glassed. Now comes the graphite resin application to the bottom.

Re: ANOTHER BUILD
Underway, LOL. Actually have set my 2 5th wheel RVs on the lot and 1 is hooked up. Now I have to install water, sewer and electric to the 2nd. Then the fence has to be built.TexaRican wrote:Where's the fish camp build thread?
Spent the week before Christmas down there and the sleeping was phenomenal!
BTW, Flounder are biting like crazy at Rollover Pass and piers at Clearlake. .

Right on 87 about 7 miles from the High Island cut off.picaroon wrote:Preacher....Where is your fish camp?
Since I'm home now and in the snow thought I would catch up a little on the Aggie special.
Got 3 coats of graphite/resin on the bottom.
Now she is flipped upright and the decks are glassed.
This coming Wednesday a fellow TFF paddler will be learning how to install rub rails, seat rails, console and other gadgets and widgets.
Then comes the A&M paint job:)

Re: ANOTHER BUILD (fishcamp added)
For those that have been asking.
This is what our little tract looked like from satellite in 2011.
2013 view from the road. Untouched for 3 years there is a lot of growth.
First thing was to get our 2 RVs on the lot and set up.
Then we cleared the weeds, cleaned the lot, moved the gazebo, built a porch landing, laid a parking lot and installed a chainlink fence which is not shown here.
Soon, we will be installing electric, water and sewer for the 2nd RV.
I am avoiding the address or any reference to pinpoint our lot for obvious reasons. I also am not posting exact dates of when we will be traveling away from home for the same reason.
Yes, it is a fish camp and I still have a lot of work to get it ready but I do take my friends at times to do some relaxed fishing at the salt.

Re: ANOTHER BUILD (fishcamp added)
I am excited about this little boat and can't wait to see what the A&M paint job looks like.
The console, seat mount rails and rub rails are not fully installed. Just got them setting in a mock up to see what it looks like.

Re: ANOTHER BUILD (FINISHED)
Believe it or not, the guy walked away and severed contact. Maybe the boat is only good looking to me.
But it wasn't hard to find someone who wants it. My Pastor has #50 birthday August 15th:)
