I am not sure yet. We have always run the stretch from 969 to Bastrop. But DNR tells me Hog Island is bigger than ever and can handle a large groups so I may set it for 973 to Little Webberville. That may just require I sacrifice and do a scouting trip in August or early September!!!

I would really like to join ya'll. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I'm in the process of getting my wife a kayak, but was curious if mine will work on a trip like this. I have the native propel.

you may have a little trouble loading all the gear in it unless you're really creative or a really primitive camper who doesn't take much! just remember everything needs to have some sort of water protection in case you turtle on your first trip  biggest thing is get all your gear together in the garage and see what all you can get in there and try moving stuff around until it fits (hopefully it'll be somewhat level or you'll be leaning alot!)

I think I'm gonna go with the cuda12. It will probably be more feasible for a trip like this. Thanks for the input.

no problem, you'll have better luck with the cuda 12. I've at least seen a couple on past river trips that made it to the take out just plan and pack it ahead of time. the launch is not the place to figure out your gear won't fit how you thought!

Probably the best Idea. I thing you may find enough shallows to make the propulsion system a hassle.

Yeah, I don't think it's worth trying to bring a propulsion system, not enough depth.

I have a Hobie Outback but bring my Native Ultimate for camping.

Tell Milret if he starts paddling now from Turkey, he can make it here in time to join us! :D

I'll have used up nearly all of my vacation by end of August, so I probably won't be able to take off work the Friday before, but at least right now it looks like I could make it, if my health holds up.
Gotta remember to renew my fishing license before the trip.

Snake wrangler? Something eventful must have transpired. Will he talk about it?

Our first trip down. A snake tried to get in his kayak with him in it. The other kayaker were fishing and did not see the snake until Mike was hitting the water with his paddle trying to keep his kayak to his self....... so the rest of the trip he practice his snake wrangler move to make sure he could protect the fishermen. So the story goes....
