Wow Mike,

Looks like y'all had a great trip. Congrats to all the lucky fishermen. That 52" king is a stud.

Sorry I missed it, but JW had a personal first today. Check out our report.

It was an Awesome trip! I caught 2 nice smacks and 1 41'' king.At one point i had too much fish in my fish bag it was causing my boat to sink. . We split the fish up and it helped a lot, the paddle in was brutal with A LOT of water in my boat. Carazy Yak helped me out a lot today including the paddle in, THANKS! :D

Had a great day at the rig,had a 4' spinner shark hit my large rattle trap on the way out to the rig. That shark was acting like a tarpon going air born like 4 times tail walking an all. What made it even better was once he saw the boat he spit the lure and left.So I got back my RT minus some paint.Paddled all around the rig with lots of short runs with no hook ups.I backed off a little an anchored up catching a nice smack on a freeline ribbonfish.Crazy Yak found the blue water another 1/2 mile out from the rig so everyone headed that way.Soon as we anchored up Crazy Yak caught his 52" king then it slowed down for a while with all catching kings but it was slow.I caught 1 king in the mid 40's then had a double on a pair of big Jacks, landing one and the other breaking off at the boat. Those fish fight like crazy. We started in and FlounderPounder, who had a nice large fish bag on the front of his yak full of fish was nose plowing. Crazy Yak emptied the water from the bag and we both took fish out to reduce the weight.I was glad to hit the sand and I know FP was as well.

Yea it was a problem, but not a bad one :D till i started to sink

I guess i disnt fix my hatch good enough as with all the wieght up front water kept coming over filling my boat with water. My pump floated of to the back of my boat so i was useing a water botel to get the water out. Thanks to jhunter i was able to use there pump which helped till i got to the rig were more water started coming back over. Now i know i dont need all the gear i had. With all my gear and before we split the fish up i had 3 in plus of water in my foot wells.

Back to to trying to get my boat water tight agian. And now i know what i need out there so i wont have all the gear i had

Where is this rig? You have to drive 5 miles through sand? Sounds like a slow drive.

It was a short drive down the beach on the low road by the water. Maybe 10-15 min. if there was a high enough tide to make you drive the high road it would be slow and i imagine somebody would get stuck.

Went out to the rig, then on out to 2.25 miles offshore, ran that motor all day and still had enough to get home. But when I got to the sand I only had 16% of battery left.

Let me tell you, after 6 hours on the water, that motor is God sent on a hot August afternoon!

I have a trident 15. Today i did the leak test and there is no leak, waiting for the inside to dry so i can spray the hatches to see if the water is getting in there, i already replaced the front hatch but will probably ad another gasket there and replace the mod pod gasket. If that isn't it i'm taking it to ack for help!! But i did have A LOT of waves coming over the bow once my fish bag started getting full.
