Gold spoons are for Reds....
Gold spoons are for Reds....
Silver spoons are for trout..... someone forgot to tell this guy.
Actually I always catch specks on Gold spoons. Just thought I would share for all the non-believers.

Them fat ladies love them some bling!
Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
I catch both on both, but I will say that gold almost always outperforms silver for me, on all fish. Then again, I think I use the gold more, so results may be skewed.
Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
Yeah - I can honestly say I only use gold. No need to use anything else as I always get results.

Could you catch a trout in the surf on a weedless spoon though? Or are their mouths too soft and thin for the bar. The typical gold weedless for marsh reds
Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
gold has always worked best for me when the water is a little off color
silver works great in the surf when the water is clear green

Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
one day I am going to go fishing with nothing but spoons, my wife recently bought a nail polish with big gold glitter so I lathered some of my dull spoons with it and gave them their bling back with some POW
can't let her know cuz she paid $9 for that polish

Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
what gold spoon doesn't get spots with its first use?
Re: Gold spoons are for Reds....
I keep my spoons in a separate box and with a small bag of desiccant. The desiccant removes the moisture. So I just rinse off the spoons with fresh water after use, dry and put them in the box.
