Actually I always catch specks on Gold spoons. Just thought I would share for all the non-believers.

I catch both on both, but I will say that gold almost always outperforms silver for me, on all fish. Then again, I think I use the gold more, so results may be skewed.

Yeah - I can honestly say I only use gold. No need to use anything else as I always get results.

Could you catch a trout in the surf on a weedless spoon though? Or are their mouths too soft and thin for the bar. The typical gold weedless for marsh reds

gold has always worked best for me when the water is a little off color
silver works great in the surf when the water is clear green

one day I am going to go fishing with nothing but spoons, my wife recently bought a nail polish with big gold glitter so I lathered some of my dull spoons with it and gave them their bling back with some POW   can't let her know cuz she paid $9 for that polish

I keep my spoons in a separate box and with a small bag of desiccant. The desiccant removes the moisture. So I just rinse off the spoons with fresh water after use, dry and put them in the box.
