What a better Monday
Grabbed the canoe and headed south a few miles yesterday. Got on the water at 8:15am and had my first fish by 8:25. It was nice to get back on the river. No phone calls, no emergencies, no broken bones. I couldn't of asked for a nicer day. The wind was howling, but didn't effect me that much. I was out of the boat wade fishing more than I was in, but I was glad I have an anchor trolley for the bigger pools. Caught a total of 11 for the day. Biggest was just above 4 lbs according to my new digital scale. There were a bunch of little ones, but fun all the same. Even caught a channel cat on a senko, that was a surprise. Got back to the truck about 1pm. It was really shady most the trip. This was my first trip down this stretch of the s. concho this year. (sad, I usually have at least a dozen by now.) I had a great time and much needed r&r on the river.
That's my "i'm too sexy for this little fish" pose.
I just wish I could get out on Saturdays.....so I can show you tourney guys how to get things done.
Have fun,
Scott

You're welcome Scott.Barnacle Bill wrote:Man, that was an awesome day for sure! Congrats on getting out and using some of the lessons Bigrock has been teaching you!
The main thing Aggro wanted to learn was the "I'm too sexy" pose. We worked on that thing for hours and days and a few more minutes until I just wanted to slap the fins off his little mermaid behind. If he weren't so concerned with snatching a Keystone Light out of my cooler, we could have achieved better results.
Oh, BTW, nice fish Scott!

Man I didn't think there was any water up there! Nice trip

Re: What a better Monday
Hi, i'm Scott and i'm a wayward angler.
Thanks guys, yeah it was nice to get out again down there. I used the canoe because I wasn't sure of water levels either and didn't want to tear my yak. Ends up the water is up just fine. I didn't drag where I had last year, it was good to see. FYI, all fish were caught between 8-11, they completely turned off after that. I wacky rigged most my stuff and went through about a dozen hooks....not getting hung up under the water either. All were lost in the trees ( ). Bought a couple new rods and was breaking them in. For every 10 great casts, I would chunk one up and immediately get hung, then break. BTW, don't start with the maple leaf thing again...
And yes, I owe so much to Bigrock for re-training me. With Bill's training I was comfortable not wearing drawers while fishing, but Bigrock showed me the error of my ways. And now I can fish, happy and clothed, and still be sexy. For that i'm eternally grateful.
Nicholas is doing great Earl, thx for asking, he got his new cast on for another 2 weeks, then hopefully, they take the pins out, then the final cast for 4-6 more weeks.
Have a good one,
Scott

I guess LMB in rivers are mostly big heads and slim bodies? Nice picts of the fish. How far above OH ivey were you? Just wondering.. I won't be fishing that part of the world but just asking questions.
