Fundraiser Scheduled

Texas City residents will hold a fundraiser Sunday for the family of the two girls and their father who drowned at the dike last month. Texas City resident Chris Richardson and the city’s Director of Community Development George Fuller organized the fundraiser to help the family pay for the funeral costs and to cover other expenses. A charitable account had already been established at Texas First Bank.

“When the mother returned to their house after being away for days (at the hospital before her husband died) the house had been broken into and robbed of all valuable,” Richardson said. “Hector was the sole bread winner for the family and the mother is pregnant with their third child. “Funds are badly needed to help this family.”
