Split arrow, but not on purpose

This is my first year with a crossbow, or any kind of bow that that matter.
So I have had to do a lot of practicing and practicng. I ended up buying a pair of "Whitemules" and cut the index finger off, so I can cock that thing.

Since I have had the crossbow, it seems like I do better in the mornings than in the evenings. Maybe, because I am rested and haven't had a gallon of coffee yet.

Thismorning, I made a shot, not on purpose, that I will probably never make again.
As I was walking up to the target, I was thinking,,, dang, that arrow is hanging funny, I thought maybe I didn't have it loaded right......oh well , it was pretty cool though.

When I practice shooting my bows, I only shoot one arrow. Go get it, walk back and then shoot again. This avoids the "Robin Hoods".

When I was operating my bowshop and I was giving lessons to beginning archers ,I would give them one arrow to shoot ,shoot walk pull and then shoot. It slowed them down so they didnt get so tired and made them concentrate more on the shot.

Good shooting ,after a while you will figure out that is what those other spots are for
It gets expensive busting arrows.

I just came in from shooting my 42# bow. I had to re-tune it since I went from a 14 strand Dyna97 bowstring to a 12 strand Dyna97 bowstring. I also changed the brace height from 7 7/8" to 7 5/8". Here's my two bow and arrow setups:

Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 42# @ 30". BS: 12Str Dyna97. BrcHt: 7.625". NP: 5/8". Arrow: 32", 2117. PW: 220 Grains. AW: 657 Grains. SPD: 151 fps. GPP: (15.64). FOC: 16.5%.


Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 37# @ 30". BS: 13Str Dyna97. BrcHt: 7.750". NP: 5/8". Arrow: 32", 2114. PW: 200 Grains. AW: 570 Grains. SPD: 152 fps. GPP: (15.40). FOC: 17.4%.

Robinhoods are cool the first few times.....then it gets way expensive! Congrats on the first one!!!

Yep, too expensive to shoot groups! Aim for different spots on the target. Unless it's your buddy's arrow. Then it's funny as all get out! The first couple times you "robin hood" it's a pretty exciting, congrat's!
