Travel Trailer
I will do a short pictorial of the build and if anyone has question just holler

It all starts here



Laid out a 78 1/2 by 8 ft floor



laid out the walls ,added 2 ft to the side walls ,the trailer is 10 ft in length



Stood the sidewalls and attached them to the floor.

Backwall and roof stringers installed



door cut in



back wall installed and braced for ac then the interer with a saturation coat on the inside walls



windows and door framed on inside walls



bracing for nose installed



trailer skinned completely


The outside was covered with saturation coat of resin seams taped and glassed

Construction
skin 4mm laun 3/.4 lumbers bracing (1 inch )
3/4 foam insulation
inside walls 4 mm laun
floor 1/2 ply saturated inside seams glassed on outside and h skin is saturated

inside completely skinned bed fram and storge being built


A note here it is set up for a single bed when I go solo and a queen when the better half goes.

windows and door installed

Storage on each side and the center is cut out for a stove.

I went and picked up some steel and built the frame



Painted axle installed



box mounted on the frame and bolted down

I know this was off subject ,but some of the guys were interested.
I ran 2 by 4 roof joist so if I want to I can mount two Kayak rack on top of the trailer.
I cut them so I had a 3/4 inch rise in the middle to shed water. There is an power vent ,12 volt, mounted on the roof.
When finished it will have a twelve volt light and fan system and also a 110 volt light ac system.

Friday morning before the bash I still ha d a ways to go.
install a jack



weld on the trailer coupler chains and wire the trailer



and of course I had a short in the trailer plug on the jeep I had to run down.
Mounted back lights and license plate oh yea had to go regester it so I could get a license plate

I was hooked up and left Sat morning early ,first time to pull the trailer and have two yaks on top,the little four banger handled it with ease, and I averaged 17 miles to the gallon so I was happy with that. I was nearly 8 ft tall ,I wasn't sure how it would handle it.
Trailer pulled straight and true no bobbles.
You know the story of the storm at the bash,well I just dropped the trailer in the sight and went looking for the wood boats. I finally found them enjoyed seeing the boats and folks. by the I was wet cold and misrable,I am just opisite of Kim I like hot weather and hate being cold.
I went back to the camper plugged in the lights put a pot of coffe on ,in about two minutes I was opening a vent and window nice and cozy. I drank the coffe laid down and crashed for a couple hours ,dang bed sleeps good.
It has a real mattress


I can sit up on the bed and still have plenty head room.

This is not the stove I will use but it worked for this weekend.

My first trip with my rig was a success, no leaks ,open the door and go in,no tent cot sleeping bag to worry about, warm dry and comfortable, and It took all of five minutes to break camp

I am no where close to complete on this project but it is campable and I am very happy with the TEXAS TEPEE

Another thing I forgot to mention ,my rods,tackle box , yak paddles lifejackets were all stored under the bed in the storage,
I think I am going to get spoiled to this rig.

You certainly have a lot of time on your hands. That was a great job. It looked like an entertainment center for a flat screen tv instead of for a camp stove. I think we need to start a project builder of the year award, and you certainely would get my vote. Kudos to you.
