Oyster Lake?

Post by Another Kayak Addict »

Im going to give Oyster Lake a shot tomorrow. My cousin wanted to fish it so I decided I might as well bring my yak. Have any of you ever fished there before? Any idea where the fish are?

I fished Oyster Lake yesterday for the first time. Was mostly a scouting trip. Wish I would've had asked for advice like you did. Thanks for the maps CaptJack!

We fished for about 4 hours without scoring a bite. Hope you have better luck! We were fishing Gulps and spoons.

How was the fishing. I have often thought of taking my YAK down to oyster lake, but have never made the trip. Let us know how it was.

Great response w/the maps!

It's a little embarrassing (and a little off-topic) to ask this question but what do the smaller numbers; 1 1/2, 2, 5, 6, etc stand for in the second pic?

I've searched for the answer all over the place to no avail and I even have one of the Hot Spot maps...

I thought so too but I've been told that is incorrect by a couple of ppl who had no justifiable explanation as to what they would represent...

the depths may not be accurate, but that is what they are suppose to be.

It was tough paddling around with the wind, but I managed to pick up a few trout (one keeper) and other junk. I believe the numbers are the depths. I mean really makes sense and the numbers seemed to be right. Pretty fun place to paddle but the water moves pretty quick through there with a southeast wind.

To add to my previous post, I think the depths are measured at low tide.
