Freeport

Post by Treuse Goose »

Fished today with Goatruckman, Goatruckman has been eyeing this spot on google earth over near Freeport for awhile now but with the good fish he has been on in the last couple of weeks its hard to venture off and try something new. Decieded to try today and am I glad we did, It was AWSOME. We caught about 25 trout, all between 7-8am, most between 18-20", we kept 1 limit for eating purposes. The fish we kept ranged from 18-23", the 23" weighted in at 4 Lbs. This was my first limit of trout.

We fished in thigh deep water over mud and shell, Goat was throwing a mirrolure and I was throwing a soft plastic on a 1/4 jig head, the mirrolure caught the bigger fish but I held my own with the plastics.

The action was so fast that there were times we were just handing the stringer back and forth to string up the fish, multiple double hook-ups.

The stringer weighted in at 35 Lbs. These fish were thick.

One more pic for ya!!!!!

Thanks again to Goatruckman, for once again putting me on fish, never fails!!!!!!!

Thanks guys for letting me tag along for a while. I did finally find that cut we were looking for about 10 minutes after we separated, and yes, there were reds in it.
