Redfish Bay flats 02/01

Post by C.A. Golla »

2:30 pm till 6:30 pm

Slow going for most of the evening with a little increase in the bite late evening, "when the noon started up". 3'' peral white gulps produced 4 trout and 2 redfish. Largest redfish went 27'', all released. Everything was caught holding over mud bottoms in 3 to 5 foot of water. Fish were overall more scattered then they were last sunday, mostly due to higher tides.

There are a good number of fish all over the flats that are holding over areas with mud bottoms. Look for signs of off colored water over mud.

Im leaving austin around 4:00am and hopefully putting in a redfish bay around 8:00am. Are you fishing this weekend. You say all the fish were in about 3-5 feet of water
