Upper Trinity slam 12/22

Post by long shot »

Took the new ride 135 out today to see if I could break her in. Got a few trout to 19" in about 5-6' of water. I was drifting the north shoreline and the water was pretty dirty. Had to put a popping cork over my plastic to get any hits. Saw some mullet working in about 2-3 foot of water and hooked a nice fat 26" red. Shortly after that I caught a small 15" flounder. I was catching and releasing and was so surprised to catch the flounder that I forgot the picture...
The fishing wasnt non stop but the weather was great and there were some fish to be caught.

I didnt have the old ride but I have owned a Tarpon 120, 160 and a perception bimini. The 135 is a smooth fishing kayak. Its easy to paddle and glides a long way. If Im going to do a marathon paddle Ill probably take the Bimini but I wouldnt hesitate to paddle across the bay in the 135 either. Its a great kayak and I highly recomend it.

Sorry Red Hunter, I kinda went out on a whim today. You shouldnt have told me the rides were in at FTU....

Perfect. A sweet new boat and paddle topped off with a great day of fishing. Doesn't get much better than that.
