No kayaks in this report.
My friend Will and I went exploring a new stretch of river I've been eyeing. Lots of sunfish and smaller bass in this stretch. He caught most of his on Strike King Bitsy Minnow and I was throwing my fly rod with a Llano Bug and Olive Woolly bugger. Not much to write about, so here are the picture.

The western headwaters, Frio, Sabinal, Guadalupe and Pedernales, all drain so little chert, they're fishable 48 hours after major flooding.
In wet years like this, the farther west and farther uphill, the better the fishing.

No words necessary, Josh. Super photos, scenery, and my own memories of fly-fishing the best waters in Colorado about 25 years ago.
I cherish those fly-fishing memories, especially stumbling upon remote streams where I was alone catching decent rainbow plus brown Trout. Sometimes I'd cook them up streamside. That style of fishing taught me how to read water, a skill well translatable to saltwater fishing.
Keep 'em coming, with or without kayaks.
