Went out this morning, very cold and very windy. After a few trout on the stringer a guy in house slippers, sweatpants, and a pimp coat comes up behind me and asks what kind of fish I had. I told him trout and he kept trying to get closer but I fish on rocks and one needs to be sure footed to walk on them. Some are loose and doesn't take much to crack a tail bone or twist an ankle. So the conversation goes on for a few minutes and he keeps trying to get closer. I notice so I tell him in an authoritative voice, "STAY BACK MY DOG WILL TAKE YOUR LEG OFF!" He stops, looks around and doesn't see the brown pelican huddled by my bucket. When he does see it He Jumps back and yells SHEEZZ! I start laughing as he walks away. Later I see him drive off in a nice black Lexus.
This brown pelican is one of many that are fed by shrimp boaters, tourists, and fisherman and has absolutely no fear of humans. Its gotten to point where it will attack your catch while you land it right next to your feet.
anyway, caught my limit. 17 to 19 inches. also caught "trash fish"

like the fish, but I'd go with a shell and base layers over the pimp coat.
When I was filleting at Arroyo 2 weeks ago, a white pelican showed up to eat a few of the carcasses before they could sink.

Some people just don’t have any respect for personal space. This is the reason I’ve stopped pier fishing , there’s a certain group that will get right on top of you and even throw into your light while your fishing it with a buddy.
