Got in the water around 5:45am even though conditions weren’t ideal. Started fishing a small channel near the marsh but only a few rat reds to show for it. Water looked terrible in the bay but got better farther back in the bayou. The bay and bayou were REALLY fresh. Worked every contour near marsh i could find and would catch one here and one there. This trip was a true grind but loved every minute. Was back to the dock at 1:15pm with 2 slots (22” and 24”). Dark purple chicken boy with chartreuse tail seemed to be what they wanted this particular morning.

Dickinson Bay/Bayou - 2/24/19
Re: Dickinson Bay/Bayou - 2/24/19
The bayou has been fresh for months not worth fishing until April or may if then when the salt comes back Great catch for the conditions. Dickinson didnt heat up like past years a few slots and a keeper trout was about it. 7 years ago we fish dickinson bay and caught a limit of trout. The bays have changed. Heck of a place to fish when its right it has not been right for a year or two. Great catch and great report.
