Rockport Reds
Rockport Reds
I was out shore fishing with a 1/4 oz gold Silver minnow spoon today at a few places around Rockport. The 12-14 inch long redfish were out in force. Nothing bigger or smaller was caught but it sure gives me hopes for early next year for the redfish catching. It was just a lot of fun anyway.

Well at least you got out! Well done!

Texasnomad, I like the way you see things. You are correct, we have a growing population of Redfish for the future.

We sure saw little reds at Estes cove 10 days ago, Talley Is. sloughs and the wading water in the back of trout bayou.
We definitely found some slot fish, and heard tales of a population of really large fish around Bird Is. Basin.
Also seemed to hit a lucky weather window with our trip timing.
Nomad, you've had a tough visit for weather - always good to get out and fish - catching is gravy.

the only thing that swims more like a crab than a falling silver minnow is a crab.
