Excellent day on the water! 1' breakers and slow swells. The water was fantastic and could see about 25 feet down. I saw a cobia 15 feet down chasing bait by the rig at the standpipe after the big rig. I tried to get a lure to throw but I was rigged for bottom.
Everyone was catching kings from the 1st rig to the standpipe. No one ventured farther. The fog rolled in for a bit and you could not see the big rig from the standpipe! It cleared after an hour or two.
I landed 6 total kings on ribbons and Halco lures and six 14" snappers on bottom with squid. Too bad they were all 1" too short. I didn't keep any as I was out for fun and I didn't want to clean them with my hand still hurting. I called it at 2 pm but others stayed out longer. Jenny and Mike were there and she landed a 56" king! Their catch is below and mine follow. I only filmed 4 of the ones I landed. Sorry for the blur. Water spots.

I got off the water fishing AP around 0930 . As I looked back at the water I thought of you guys offshore and thought it perfect conditions.
Good for you and your friends.
