Nice photos. Taken with a phone or real camera?

I think the third picture has a redfish tail next to the front of the kayak.
Re: April 27, 2018
Love the bird pic. What are those? Had to have used a real camera I suspect to get the zoom on those guys.
Cool red tail too, was he one you CPR'ed or did you manage to sneak up on him?

Short billed dowitchers. They breed up in Canada in bogs (avoiding Sasquatches as best they can) and winter down here. Cool birds.Chubs wrote:Love the bird pic. What are those?

You mind sharing your camera setup on the kayak? I'm itching to take my dslr out with me and I'm thinking a padded sleeve of some sort inside a dry bag would keep a camera safe until ready to use. Thanks,

I'm curious too.JohnnyUtah wrote:You mind sharing your camera setup on the kayak? I'm itching to take my dslr out with me and I'm thinking a padded sleeve of some sort inside a dry bag would keep a camera safe until ready to use. Thanks,

Though I take my Olympus TG tough and it can turn out some nice pictures. My biggest problem is where to store the thing while underway. And also how to ensure it's buoyant incase it goes overboard. I've got a dangly floating strap thing, but it seems like the strap just gets in the way of my lens all the time when I'm trying to snap a pic of a fish one handed (gotta secure the fish with the other hand).
I'm thinking maybe I could DIY a float from a pool noodle and a large plastic washer + screw that could screw into the camera tripod base screw. And maybe get a quick disconnect added to the screw and mounted to the kayak or something so I just pull it loose when I need it - like a spyder holster or some such.

I take several cameras with me. I do enjoy taking photos as much as fishing. I had wanted to take my dslr with me for the longest but was skittish of the salt water effect on it. I ended up buying a canon powershot and keep it in a dry bag. Cheaper to replace than a dslr. I also have an olympus tough. It is on a scotty camera mount. It has a cord going from the camera mount to the mount on the kayak so no worries about dropping it.Chubs wrote:I'm curious too.
Next time I go out I will be sure to get pics of the setup
