I went for a few hours after supper. I had a feeling the trout had already moved on but I needed some exercise.

These fish are fun to catch at night, jigging a plastic just below the surface and watching them strike it from underneath. The bite stopped 5 minutes after the front blew in.

The tourists kept calling them electric eels.

Ribbon fish are cool! If you can catch a bunch of these in the fall you can use them for BTB.

Electric eels, that’s funny. Those cutlassfish are one fish I don’t like to catch, although they are interesting to look at. They like flies like clousers and wreck the deer hair with those teeth.

The only African pompano I ever caught was using a large cutlassfish slow trolled out in the gulf.
