Sunday Trip

Took my son and his friend (new yak) down to East Matty for a trip Sunday. On the water for around 7am, ENE (ish) wind , water color was really good, tide dropping - may have been low tide. Sunny / Partly Cloudy, not much activity, bait wise.
After a couple of drifts in 2-4' water - we headed up the shoreline and out to deeper water with scattered shell. About 10 we started picking up a bite or two...and picked up a nice 20" trout. Had one set of birds pop up about 10:30ish managed one sandie and one trout (sons friend) and an 18" red before a PB came in and the birds and fish scattered.
Off the water around 11:30 and home to a gloomy and drizzly Houston - seems we had the best of the weather. At least we had supper sorted.
A good day out with the lads for sure.
