Flounder Frenzy!

Post by Work2Fish »

Owe everyone a report it's been a while.

Date/Time: Sunday 3/19/ 12 PM - 6 PM
Location: Marsh on South side of Galveston
Wind: Started around 5-8 S/SW, ended ? maybe 15 (or at least felt like it as I paddled in)
Tide: Slow incoming the whole time

Not one after the other but very consistent action hitting points around confluences and also drains into larger channels. Bite was fairly aggressive. Ended up catching 5, one around 12", two around 14" (threw back as it was too close), and 2 at 16" (kept). Beautiful day and wish I could have found the reds or some trout, but pretty safe to say that spring is in swing with juvenile flounder feasting on lots of shrimp that were popping out of the water. I used a 3" white shrimp on a quarter ounce jighead all day. Wind kicked my butt on the way back to the launch. Can't wait to get back out!
