Skipped opening day of deer season

Post by StevenM »

With the warm damp weather in the hill country decided to scoot back down south and see if the Reds were still where I left em
Decision paid off. Wife and I had two limits of Reds and a few lower slot trout. Released at least 10 other slot Reds and left em biting around noon
BTW if you didn't know duck season has started so be cautious paddling up in the marsh. Don't think those guys like that too much early in the morning

Good call. If your deer lease or place is like most in the Hill country, it's not if but when you harvest a deer. Much more pleasant to dress and process deer in cooler weather. Nice fish.
