Brown & Root Flat

Post by JMS »

Got a late start today, water was very high on the flat wind about 10MPH. Fished the edge of the flat parallel to the road casting up onto submerged oyster reefs......Picked up a rat red moved further out and fished the deeper channel hoping for a flounder but my Gulp jig couldn't make it too the bottom before the lizard fish tore into it....fished grass edges saw mullet with some reds mixed in but could get any takers......water wasn't as clear as normal but still thought I would have picked up a fish or two.

Have two more days of fishing and plan to leave the kayak on the truck one morning and fish Packery Jetty for Bull Reds. Not sure we're I'll go the other day, maybe launch by Red Dot
