Copano Bay Sunday

Post by bamabreezy »

13 reds landed total, 25" and 21" had a couple that were right on 20" but decided to let them go in hopes of a larger one. Had an oversized one spool me before I could get my anchor up. All in 2 to 2 1/2 foot water about 20 yards off the bank. Legend poppin cork and gulp shrimp

Man, that sucks about the redfish spooling you. Great fish none the less.

I was fishing Lighthouse Lakes on Sunday, but it looks like I should have been in Copano! Thanks for sharing the report!

One redfish sighted and hooked, but cut my leader on oysters. The water was high and dirty.

Spooled! If I were using braid I would chase the line and pull the fish in!

I mesed up and had my anchor out to far. And was trying to pull it up so that he could take me on a nantucket slayride but the 200 yds of braid started getting down to my mono so i put my thumb on it to keep it from spooling all the way while i tried to get anchor up and snap broke the leader line off the other end

I don't think you'll get much grumbling for posting that launch. Most TKF folks know about it.

I'd expect a few more yaks there this weekend, but the north wind might really stir that area up!

Not from me. You are not telling anyone any specific spot. You are just saying there are fish there. They are always there and other places.
Thanks for sharing. I'm not going there but if anyone does I wish them luck too!

Hey folks, made a quicky trip to Dollar Bay with my brother-in-law this morning. I caught two small specs and my BIL caught a keeper spec and a keeper red but we released all of them. After that nothin...Plan on heading to Port A next weekend and since we've never been there I appreciate the info about where to put in, etc. Tight lines ya'all. ...
