Conditions
Wind: Southwest @ 5-10 mph; bay water choppy
Water Clarity: 1-2 feet
Tide: Strong incoming all morning
Bottom: Sand
Depth: 3 feet
Lures: Chartreuse colored soft plastics rigged on ¼ oz jighead
Trout fishing in West Bay has been outstanding the past few weeks and I hammered them again this morning.
Best bite was from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM during the strong incoming tide. I targeted small fresh slicks that were continuously popping up across the cove. Most of these small slicks resulted in bigger trout after making a few casts. The larger slicks held more of the school/undersized trout but sometimes a bigger fish would show up if there was enough fish feeding in the area. The fetch and strong currents were making it challenging to position around the slicks the way I like.
Kept a limit of trout from 18”-24” and released about 10 more including a 24-25” fish. Also caught and released some nice trout, reds and flounder last weekend.
Here’s a few of the pictures from this morning and last Saturday.

Those square shaped clouds in the background always make me chuckle.
