Headed to the usual spot and knew it was going to be a good day when I immediately saw 4 to 5 tails poking out of the water in some stirred up water. It took a few casts but finally they noticed the DOA shrimp.
The bite cooled off and I was only catching rat reds so I picked up and moved to another locale. Wanted to kick back too so I picked up some live shrimp on the way. The "structure" was scattered grass beds next to a channel which provided route for fish to get around a small island. The water was murkier and deeper than usual but the upper slot reds were here. Here's the last one I caught, 27".

That's a solid tournament red right there; nice job.
Not too familiar with the spot you caught the keeper reds, guess I better get back out exploring AP.

Reds still seem schooled up. Its been either a limit or nada lately for medihappy wrote:Im so sad, i was in AP this past weekend fishing Stedmans reef area and only caught one red on cut bait.

Just keep moving around. Cut mullet has been the best for us, off the reef a ways in the potholes
Going to probably hit Steadmans at some point Friday if the winds let us.
