First time out on lake Fayette this weekend, beautiful weather and had some luck. No pictures to show, but I did catch one 3 pound large mouth on a chrome and blue rattletrap. She was caught off a main point on or near the bottom in probably 10'.
Didn't see too many others catching great numbers.
Lots of very small minnows schooling up in the trees, stumps and coves.
There was some topwater action in the evening but still couldn't solicit a bite even on small flies and poppers.
Overall, it was fishing.

Nice.
I was at Fayette this Saturday too. It was my first trip there.
I couldn't take the kayak since I had guests with me.
We were fishing off this small pier at the NW end of the lake (Park Prairie?)
We had 2 setups in the water with dip bait for cats, while casting TX-rigged worms and crankbaits for bass.
Didn't even get a nibble on either.
I saw almost a dozen boats and a few kayakers focusing on sunken timber that was nearby.
Didn't see them catch anything though.

I was out there Friday and Saturday as well. I was able to manager a few fish on carolina rigged plastics in some creek bottoms, my estimation was 8-10' of water. Two of those fish were in the 5-6lb range. It was a beautiful weekend to be on the water!
Also saw a pretty big water moccasin sunning in a over hanging tree limb.
