Wind 2-5 ENE
Tide: Bottom half falling
Launched in darkness @ 0640 and at daylight a huge fog bank rolled in.
It was super heavy, but only lasted about an hour.
There was around 6-12" of water on the flats, I noodled around for a bit
then noticed a lot of bait activity deeper, towards Eastshore.
I had a dozen live finger mullet so chunked one out on a Carolina Rig and worked
a gulp/cajun thunder at the same time.
I proceeded to catch what seemed like a zillion lizard fish on the gulp.
They were hitting the finger mullet too, I managed to catch a few but mostly
the mullet were coming back bitten in half.
While battling the lizards, my mullet rod doubled over hard.
It was a big ol' stingray.
I got em up to the yak and was working on getting the hook out then that sucker proceeded to hop in with me
Before I could figure out what the heck to do, it flopped out and swam away.
That's 2 trips in a row to B&R with tons of Lizardfish caught.
Next trip will be up to Copano for a change of scenery and hopefully a few decent fish.
