Conroe CatFish

Post by MachewTexas »

Just got back. Cool front came in over night. No rain occurred. But there were threats of thunderstorms. Went out at 7:30. Fished for an hour as the front blew over. Heavy winds, overcast. Chummed with soured bird seed in 15-18ft of water. They began biting just minutes after putting the hook in. CJs powerboat and CJs shad. Pulled up many. Kept five. Will be frying in the next hour!!!! HAPPY EASTER!

Awesome! I'm gonna try to get after some channel cats in one of my local ponds, wish I had some chum though... maybe I'll buy a 50lb bag of range cubes tomorrow

Lake Conroe Catfish November 2015

Post by MachewTexas »

Nasty looking clouds, but no rain. 64-68 degrees outside. Plenty of good sized channel cats. Chum with canned corn in almost 20ft of water near riprap. Their bite was on a range of aggressive to barely noticeable. I fished about 6 inches off a sand bottom with some stinky punchbait. Also used fresh dead shrimp, but it didn't produce. Some structure was nearby. Some fun was had.
