Marsh Trout & Reds: Video Added
Met a few buddies at the launch this morning. It was Nate's birthday and we all had the same idea. What a better way to spend a birthday than getting muddy in the Texas marsh. There was a strong incoming tide all day, and the water was very silty. We cruised shorelines, open water, shell, and ledges. We started on a ledge where Jared and I both picked up one red. They took off to search elsewhere, while I stayed behind and found a solid trout bite. Picked up 8 trout from 16'' to 25'', and one 29'' redfish. I drifted over some mud flats and sight-casted another 29'', and a 24'' redfish. I used my H&H Queen Cocahoe Minnow in black with chartreuse tail all morning. It was my first time to give the H&H EWX rod a workout. The sensitivity really helped me feel the soft bites today. All fish were CPR'D.

LOL. I was really lucky to get this shot. The wind was to my back and I was drifting with the current. Not having to paddle really helped me edge closer with my rudder and not spook the Osprey. I was snapping pics the entire time and luckily got this one right before he took off.NastyNate wrote:Nice photos! Dude I hate you I wanted to get a photo of that bird but no Bueno with the phone. Very nice fish. Looks like you had some strong water movement where you are set up there.
