Personal Best-Trout-Finally Broke 30"

Launched at 8:00am to a ENE wind around 8mph. Water was clear and higher than I've seen in awhile. I worked at it pretty hard for the first 3 hours without so much as a bump. I had worked several reefs in 2 to 2-1/2' of water without any sign of fish, so I moved deeper. After another hour, I saw one small bait flip. I chunked the Cacahoe Minnow towards the bait and hooked up. At first I thought I had hung the bottom, then I felt a couple of head shakes and a steady pull. After a few drag pulling runs, she broke the water and I saw silver and spots. This moment had been on my "Bucket List" for 40 years. I finally got her netted and measured at 30" Biggest trout I've ever caught. Took a few picks and eased her back home. She's out there waiting on you……

After the heart rate stabilized, I fished on and caught a couple more trout (21-1/2" 17") and a nice red. (25") A day I'll never forget.

What a trout! Congrats Tom! That's been my goal for a long time, but I've been unsuccessful so for. Hopefully the one you threw back will swim in front of my lure one day.
