Watched the radar all morning, loaded up in the rain and when the radar showed the rain East of Galveston I headed South. it was raining again when I hit the causeway. Forecast was for 9-12 from the East turning West mid afternoon. launched @ Eckert Bayou 12:30, water temp 48 degrees, crystal clear, wind ENE at 7. Fished West to Dalehite Cove and hooked the first red in 3-4' hanging on bottom in a cold sleep, felt like I was dragging shell with an occasional tug. He finally woke up a little and was brought in and strung 21". By the time I reached Hoeckers Point the wind had dropped to 0. worked open water East approx. a mile to deep into Starvation Cove and sight casted a little movement and hooked up to a 6.5# 26 1/2" toad that was far from sluggish, CPR. Worked back Southwest through the islands inside the geotubes for about a mile, wind still @ 0 and being around 5pm the water was just starting to show signs of life at the warmest part of the day. back into Eckert had one sightcasted miss and then hooked #3 on a sightcast and 21" on the stringer. Not a lot of action but one of the prettiest days on the water in quite some time. I heard one power boat and one barge churning down the intercoastal all day long. Oh and saw approx. 1500-2000 ducks throughout the trip. Much better than the playoffs.

I was looking for a window and the door was wide open. We do not get enough days like that this time of year.

Thank you for that report. I've finally gotten a second yak and want to get my boys out somewhere like this. Appreciate the detail and directions.

Nice detailed report crossbones, we fished there a few weeks ago and zeroed, but weren't there long. We had picked up from out original spot and dropped in there for bit before heading home, that's a nice easy launch and a good place to take a kid for sure.

I know this is the launch but where do you park with all the no parking signs, before you get to those signs?

Some people still park by the trash can or on the around the corner from the launch,I asked the sheriff right after they put up the signs and he told me to park past the signs on Settegast. so I park past the driveways to the houses about 75 yards East.
