Flounder, October through December
This fall has been stellar for flounder fishing here on the upper coast of Texas. I have pulled limits out of the marsh and channels leading to the gulf. From the beginning of October through the beginning of December I have landed over 130 flounder, most being 17-19 inches and many from 20-24 inches. The common thread with my success has been thoroughly and patiently working structure (current breaks, edges of oyster reef, pier pilings, patches of mud among rip-rap, marsh drains, grass lines), you name it I have patiently hopped, jigged and swam my H&H plastics in order to entice flounder to bite. I have been targeting flounder most of my life and have tried many techniques and tackle along the way, but I always come back to H&H lures. I will use the 3 inch cocahoe minnow through summer and early fall then switch to the salty curl tail and tandem magnum speck and redfish rigs during winter and spring.
Here are a few pictures, and a description of the conditions of today's trip in the Galveston channel.
Low tide 7:30am.
Strong incoming tide coinciding with a major feed time from 9:45am - 11:45am.
Wind E/NE 5-10
Low barometric pressure
All fish were caught today using the H&H pro 1/4oz jig head with a white salty curl tail. The fish were scattered on mud near rip-rap in 3 feet of water.

Thanks for the good info . Ive become a big fan of grubs the last year or two. Either use an H&H or gulp swimming mullet

They work well for sure. One H&H curl tail can last you all day of catching.IndyKid wrote:Thanks for the good info . Ive become a big fan of grubs the last year or two. Either use an H&H or gulp swimming mullet
