Post by txfshrmn »

I Will be up there this weekend and will be a yakking fool... Boy's trip!!!

Has anyone been out there lately? Looks like the red's are heading down so if we paddle far enough we may get into that action. Just looking for the Holy Grail map report ya know!

We were there oct 15th --21st. Been there many times. Several places to fish by kayak. From grassy point bait you can paddle due east 1.2 miles and fish plinkington bayou. We have caught trout, reds and flounder at the mouth of that cut many times. If it's to windy to cross then fish the rocks that go around east bayshore marsh. You should also fish the opening that goes into the marsh. Fish along the rocks. Fish up close to the rocks and keep your eyes open for nervous mullet. Paddle into the trailer park marina and go under the hump bridge and fish in there for reds and flounder. Eat migas at Marcella's on main street. The best I ever had. Also you can get a platter sized flounder broiled for $15 at Bayside seafood. Drive down to the shrimp boats at the harbor and find Kym's or next door is dominos. You can buy 10 count shrimp right off the boats for $5 per lb. PMR has great mexican food and cheap margarita's. Enjoy.
