Pier fishing

Post by CoastieCulture »

Couldn't decide on yak or surf so I decided to go to my old favorite spot the galveston fishing pier! Màn was it flat and smooth this morning. Would of been a great day for btb! Those with popping cork and live shrimp had a great day on the pier catching smacks. One guy caught over twenty in just a couple hours and that's with a few spitting the hook. I used cut bait and shrimp and caught several whiting, one blacktip shark, huge gafftop, few croaker, and a pompano. I helped a family with a ray that didn't have a drop net.
Water was greenish clear, could see pup shark, bait fish, and some descent size sheepshead swimming around.
