Low tide fun

Post by jesley22 »

This morning I decided to hit the marsh since low tide was around 6:00am, I was on the water by 5:30 but shoulda been on at 4:30 instead. As I got to one of mouths that leads to the back I saw some bait bust, I threw my chickenboy over and hooked up instantly, to my surprise it was a decent trout, I released him and continued on. My kayak was barley crawling through the mud which made it hard to cover any water but finally got to the spot where I have seen reds recently. I posted up looking for wakes and backs, I got a few good cast at a couple and hooked up twice but both managed to get off. I started to make my way back when I spotted two groups of seagulls hovering above the water...JACKPOT. I quickly paddled over that way and casted my lure towards the birds. As soon as the lure hit the water a fish was on, I caught two out of the school and decided that was enough for today. On the water at 5:30 and off by 10:30.
