Bayside SLP

Post by Specksandspots »

Went out to to SLP this morning with plans of fishing the guts around the flats but about halfway down the bridge I come to find out my 4x4 would not engage and sunk the truck twice ( thank you whoever you were that pulled me out twice). So after that adventure taking about 2 hours I drove down the road and dropped in a different spot. Water clarity close to shore was gin clear to about knee deep then slowly got worse the deeper I got. Started out throwing a spook and got a quite a few blowups but no takers. Came back with a Kicker fish bait co tail slapper white/chartruese on a 1/4 oz jig head and picked up a nice 20 in speck, 30 minutes after that picked up another fat trout right 19.5 and about 15 minutes after that picked up 18 in speck. Bite slowed down after that so I hopped in the yak and started making my way thru old slicks and picked up a few dinks and a huge lady fish that was about 27 in. Headed in after that and picked up a flounder at 17 in right next to the shoreline . All fish caught on white/chartruese kicker fish bait co tail slapper.

Taking the trail to the flats on the backside is much easier than the trail by the bridge... Unfortunately, it's usually learned the hard way...

nice catch.

Try letting 10-15# of air out of your back tires next time.
