best day ever

Post by Slingshot »

At least according to my 5 yr old daughter, Aubrey.

Caught on white curly tail Gulp. All by herself. I was just the net man.

She will fish for a while. Then she will feed the seagulls. Then she will look for crabs. Then she will look for seashells. Then she will watch a movie on my phone. Then she will fish again for a while.

Great pics and outcome.
My 7 yr old girl often claims a "Best Day Ever!" on a good day - you did well for her. Congrats.
Get her a Redfish now and she'll be hooked for good.

Except for the movie/phone thing, that sounds like me as a kid. Fishing was OK but seashells, hermit crabs, swimming and finding shark teeth were equally fascinating to me.

Kids have a way of reminding us that it is not all about catching a fish, but it feels like the best day ever when they catch one. I cherish the memories and photos I have of fishing with my kids. Hopefully someday she will realize how special it was to fish from a canoe with her father. Most kids will never have that experience. Good job dad!
