San Bernard-2/20/14

Post by tguff »

Spring is right around the corner and the fish are moving to their spring patterns. I found them spread out from deeper guts to the marsh. It was nice to see a few up in the skinny water again. Last march was a banner month, this March should be on fire. Caught reds, and flounder in water ranging from 4' to 8". All fish caught on plastics. Chicken Boy 3", 4" cajun Spice and Bass Assassin shad Texas Roach.

March through May was an awesome couple of months for me last year. Fish seemed like they were everywhere to be found. I'm ready for February to be gone and March to arrive. Nice job on the video and catching.

Dandy,
You and Shoffer need to come out for the San Bernard Fishing Tourney on March 30th. You'll get free BBQ and some new spots to fish.

Nice job as usual, Guff.

DandyDon and I made a trip to the San Bernard today. First time for me. Water was low, and we had a slow day - one 13 inch spec for me, and a sheepshead and rat red for Don. Launched at 7 am, off the water by 11 am. Though we did not tear it up like you usually do, I can see why you like the area so much. It does have some potential.

I checked out your video from your 2/20/14 trip to the San Bernard this morning before I left, so I could get some idea of what to look for. I thought you were getting a PA last month, but your old yak is in the video. Have you gotten it slimed yet out there? After my experience today scraping some oyster shell in my Outback, though, I can see why you might want to wait to take the PA out to the San Bernard and keep using your the original craft.

As for the tournament, sounds fun. I will certainly consider it!
