Livingston Dam 2/15
Fished the dam this past Saturday. It started off cold and with 2 gates open I was optimistic. Met a Nice yakker at the launch by the name of MikNix. Started of by going to the dam and trying to get a 3 inch grub up to the dam for stripers. Nada. Went out right on the edge of the main channel and second cast I catch a 19" striper on a speck rig. My first striper! Get a few more bites but after breaking off 3 or 4 times I had enough of that. Went over to were MikNix and my dad were and fished for about an hour and caught to fat 15" white bass and my dad caught a fat Largemouth. We kinda split up after that and I went right in the middle of the channel and threw out some shad for catfish. While I had that out I was fishing a Roadrunner pretty close to the bottom and hook a nice fish. I figured I hook a big drum or buffalo. Fought strong in the current for a minute or two and comes up and it is a big and fat white bass. 16 1/2 inches and about to pop from all the eggs. Come to find out it is a new kayak wars record for the south central! After that we went back to a little hole off the main channel were MikNix caught the biggest freshwater drum I've ever seen. It was big Ugly status. While fishing over there we were watching this boat with 4 guys absolutely killing the stripers/hybrids. Every cat they were hooking up for a good hour. We soon called it a day end the day with a nice sunset!
I might make a video if I have time but school is swamping me with work right now so only pics for now.

Cool! Looks like a fun place for a fly rod!
If you don't mind sharing, where are you launching?

I launch on the east side next to the boat launch. There is a nice bank with plenty of parking room

Its been a while when I last fished below the LL Dam, but not with a kayak. What anchor method are you using?
