Blue bird sky.
Paddled through a familiar marsh system this morning but pushed back fatter than I've ever gone. Scanned the water for bait and off colored water the entire paddle to the back. Eventually saw mud stirs and wakes in a small canal that was running about 3 feet deep and 5 - 6 feet wide and had a pretty swift current. As I paddled through the canal I was spooking and seeing mud stirs in every direction. So I slowed down the pace and crept around a bend and made a long cast before paddling through. I did this repeatedly and was rewarded with really nice upper slot fish. Using the 1/2 ounce secret H&H spoon really helped when blind casting the shorelines and the canal. Racked up about 10 miles in the tarpon and don't feel that worn out. Once you get going,,, the tarpon glides. Hoping to make a trout trip on Sunday before the game.
