Ft Worth Nature Center
Some say to launch at the Ten Mile Rd bridge, is there a launch, is it safe to leave your vehicle, how is the paddle? Thanks
Re: Ft Worth Nature Center
I've also thought about fishing there but haven't had the chance yet. Let me know where you end up launching if you do.

Will do.
Re: Ft Worth Nature Center
Launch at FTW. Nature center. Only $5. Cars are safe there. Paddle and fish up river , pass 10 mile bridge to at less the old bait shop. Any big sections on water always good fishing. But remember there are gators. Up and down both ends.

X2 on launching at the nature center , i like to get there on sundays right as they open up and paddle up river hard , i can usually make it to the dam before they start to let out , they dont let out very much but i can tell when im paddling against the flow.
If you want to fish for a long day, launching at casino beach and going up is free and not too bad

The launch at 10 Mile Bridge road is not a real easy one. Much easier from the Nature Center for only $5 and your vehicle is safer. However, today was the last day of extended weekend hours and until spring,, it will be 8:00 to 5:00. The gates lock at 5:00 and if you are late getting out, you are locked in and have to call the police to let you out.

Also, an option is to launch at Casino Beach @ the Jackboro HWY bridge. There's a staffed patrol station right next to the ramp so it's likely the safest place to leave your vehicle on the lake. BE SURE TO BET A TRAILER STAMP at the marina by the park if you have a trailer or the douchbags there will ticket you. You're in good shape if you can haul your yak in the bed of your truck, etc.
It's about a 40 minute slow paddle to the NC, just stay to the left once you get to the cattails and the opening will feed you right into the NC. Plus, you can fish all the way to/ from on both sides of the lake.
However, it's pretty rare that any sizable fish come from back there cause the water is really shallow & stagnant -- less than a foot in large parts of the lake (back towards the NC) and in the NC. And, then there's the gators!!

Spotted two gators this week.

Water is high. Water temp is upper 70s. Fish have moved off. Guess its time to hit the lake.
