Best black bass fishing areas in North Texas for kayaks???
Just sold my bass boat and purchased a kayak. I have fished several ponds and a small lake in it so far. Any of you veteran kayak bass fishermen have any quiet bass fishing lakes, rivers, or ponds in North Texas that are ideal for kayaks?

There's a 'Map for Kayak Fishermen/women' on Google maps. Will help me in the near future. I'm sure it will for you. Tight lines to you.

Purtis Creek State Park? Eustace, TX? If so seems like a nice spot just kind of far for my taste.Rene wrote:Purtis Creek Lake is awesome it's small and it has big bass

I went on 04-07-2014 in the evening and caught a 22in bass.
These bass love some watermelon red brush hogs, or they have been lately. I love this lake for kayak bass fishing, crappie and catfishing as well. It's 30 minutes from where I live, 10 minutes from Athens, and about a little over an hour from Dallas for anyone thinking it's a stretch and you live far.
People say this lake is better when the water gets warm and temps rise.... well since bass have an increased metabolism during the summer I would have to agree , but really it's a good lake. If live bait is your thing, you will catch some double digit bass.
This bass measured 22in long and I rough guess a girth measurement of about 15in. Anyone want to guess the weight? lol
