personal best board
hey everyone. thought it would be interesting for people to be able to brag on our big fish. post up a pic or several of your personal best, including at least one of the fish on a hawg trought ( other measuring sticks are fine too ) if you have the weight, put that in too. my personal best ( named her matilda ) came from the bird, measured 27 inches and weighed in a skinny 9# 11 ounces, caught her after she spawned, but man she was HUGE!
Re: personal best board
Okay, I'll go. Not my biggest redfish ever, but my first and biggest, 28", 9.5 pounds on the boga , on a fly. The whole experience from the stalk, the cast, the take, the fight is something I will never forget.

Re: personal best board
No pics because I caught them over 10 years ago and the pics got lost in a couple of moves, but for a couple of years I had the Lake Fork fly fishing record for largemouth when I caught a 7.95# on a #1 Peck's Popper in Little Mustang Creek. Then two years later I caught a 9# largemouth on the same fly. Two weeks later a guide caught a 9.25# on a fly, so he has the record now.

Hell YES!!!! That fish looked like a rocket. I've got smaller ones that fought like hell, so I know a big one put up a huge fight
Re: personal best board
It was nice. She had shoulders on her for sure! 10 lb test and drag peeling.. Doesn't get any better than that!Welderdude wrote:Hell YES!!!! That fish looked like a rocket. I've got smaller ones that fought like hell, so I know a big one put up a huge fight

no worries john, we all start somewhere. good news though, easy to beat a 15" bass in most central texas rivers if you just fish enough
