Lake Bastrop 12/30/14

Long time lurker and seldom poster. I do appreciate the info here and find it very useful.

I live in Kansas, my son and his family live in Austin. We drove down Sunday and got to fish at Bastrop Tuesday. We launched at South Shore a little before 8am, windy, cloudy and somewhat cold. Seems like it was 35-38 when we launched and got to around 50 in the afternoon. We had the correct gear so weather didn't really bother us.

I caught four Bass, two of them were just under two pounds and couple of smaller ones. All on Zoom Toads.

It was a great day on the lake.

The drive home to Kansas was ten hours of ice and rain. The truck and yaks were covered with ice when we got here.

Been looking for an excuse to go to lake Basstrop again, haven't been since last May.
