Looks like blue Heron hit him and didnt realize the size. I've watched them hit fish that they couldn't possibly ever eat.

This was in the Beaumont area. I don't know who was more spooked when it happened, the fish, the alligator, or me...... I pulled several fish in with similar bite marks.

I had not fished SETX before but it changed how I fished, was used to looking for copper-headed-rattle-moccasin, not alligators..... :shock:
