I am buying an Old Town Discover canoe. It is made of polyethylene and I want to know if I can attack foot braces to it. Can you drill holes or glue the braces?

I have had a Discover 119 for about 7 years and find it an excellent canoe, great for floats and camping. I have never felt the need for foot braces but we had a member here some years ago that put them on a similar canoe. I would give a dealer who specializes in canoes and kayaks a call seeking their advice.
